24 Hours From Q-Town: 2015 – HOUR 9

Hi Kids!

Can you believe it, 9 hours! More than a third of the way to the big finale!

Austin, Tristan, Mia, and Eloisa have departed. Bye, Kids!

Now there are 6…

Here’s how they’re doing:

IMAG3614

Looks like Mark’s got a bunch of pages penciled…

IMAG3616

Matt’s got some intricate work going on. Not sure what it is yet…

IMAG3619

Melody has a fantasy theme? We’ll see how it develops.

IMAG3623

Apparently Mike’s heroine guerilla zombie fighter is named Hannah, and I love what he did with the UNDEAD line drawings.

IMAG3627

And on to the next page… Mike “The Machine”, onnaccounta he’s turning out such high quality stuff, eh?

IMAG3628

Antonio’s character is getting a BIG HAND…

IMAG3632

While Aliina is working away. As usual, no idea what she’s doing…

IMAG3636

And speaking of Aliina, she was the next winner of our raffle! She chose the REDFOX collection from Old West Comics & Games.

Which brings us to HOUR 10…

Your pal,

Chuck

24 Hours From Q-Town: 2015 – HOUR 8

Hi Kids!

You recall I said I would continue our tour of the Fabulous Prize Table with Margaret from Old West Comics & Games, whose boundless generosity made us so happy.

ooldwestcomicsfront

Well, here’s what she gave us!

IMAG3551       IMAG3552

The REDFOX comics are British, and have interesting design layouts, different from traditional American comics. The others are all vintage comics, and one, The Art of Jack Bradbury, is an in depth look at this master craftsman’s technique and drawing style.

In addition, came these:

IMAG3556

Three VHS videotapes, two classic animes, and an animated X-Men adventure.

Thanks so much, Margaret!

We also had another drawing, and this time Melody was the big winnah! She chose the Astro-Zombies gift certificate for $10.

IMAG3612

And Mike has finished two pages:

IMAG3608             IMAG3607

Looks like some Guerrilla girl zombie action going on. My favorite is the center panel on the first page, where we’re looking at the girl through the hole she just blew in the zombie’s head.. Very clever, Mike!

And thus completes HOUR 8…

Back for HOUR 9.

Your pal,

Chuck

Matt was delighted.

Now for some progress pics:

IMAG3576

Here’s Mark and Antonio.

IMAG3577

Mark, one of our oldest (not age-wise but most times participating) creators. He’s managed to finish almost every time for 4 years. No easy feat, that.

IMAG3582

Tristan, Eloise, and Mia in a creative space…

IMAG3580

Here’s Matt and the top of Melody’s head. They’re just getting started.

IMAG3585

So thanks to all of our sponsors for their support!

Oh look, that took a whole hour, so I’ll be back with HOUR 5, soon, with specifics of what these fine folks have donated to us.

24 HCD from Arctic Circle

Bee Masakun

Here at Rovaniemi, Finland (the official hometown of Santa Claus) we are participating 8th time this year. As always the Rovaniemi City Library hosts the event and organizes it together with Taikalamppu. This year we have close to forty participants from age 15 up.

We are now just half way there. Participants are still lively and suprisingly few have left to sleep at home. First comics are ready and many are on their way. Outside the temperature is close to zero degree of Celcius but inside the library we have it warm and cosy. Just a little bit more coffee and we will make it through the night.
